The official NEST 2026 syllabus primarily followed the CBSE 2025–26 curriculum and NCERT Classes XI-XII, with some Class 10 science knowledge potentially required.

Biology

Cell biology, plant and human physiology, reproduction, genetics, evolution, ecology, biotechnology and other senior-secondary biology topics.

Chemistry

Physical, inorganic and organic chemistry across the senior-secondary curriculum, with emphasis on concepts and quantitative reasoning.

Mathematics

Algebra, calculus, coordinate geometry, vectors, probability, statistics and related Class XI-XII mathematics.

Physics

Mechanics, thermal physics, waves, electricity, magnetism, optics, modern physics and related Class XI-XII concepts.

Best way to study NEST

Use NCERT as the foundation, then practise mixed questions. Because the final score uses qualifying sections, do not let one subject become a complete blind spot.
